What is Oban Star-Racers ?

• Production
  Oban Star-Racers is a 26 episodes TV show. It's different from many others particularly because of its origin : half french, half japanese. Studios involved in are Sav ! The World Productions for the French part, and Hal Film Maker for the Japanese one.
  Oban Star-Racers is distributed by France 3 and Disney/ Jetix in many countries. Its first release was on the 12th of april 2006.




• Story

Eva Wei, a teenager, hasn't seen her father, Don, for 10 years. The day of her fifteens', she escapes from her boarding school in order to see him again. But when they meet, he even doesn't recognize her and thinks she's a mecano ! Nevertheless, she decides to hide him the truth and works in his races firm under the name of Molly.
Soon, the President of the Earth Coalition send Don as manager of a special team : the Great Oban Race, the race of all races, will take place and each planet of the Galaxy has be represented. So Don leaves with Rick, Jordan, Stan and Koji, all the bests in their specialities. Indeed, a certain girl follows them on their trip ;)
Sadly, Rick, the Earth pilot, has an accident. So now, it's Molly's turn to race and win the Ultimate Prize, a reward surrounded by many shadows and coveted by all...



• Main characters



Molly/ Eva Wei
	Molly is very determined, and doesn't hesitate to tell when she disagrees with something. For her, friends always come first. But deeper, she has profounds wounds. The loss of her mother gave Molly great desire of being with her father again. By racing, she tries to find back happiness.




Don Wei
	Authoritarian, stubborn and often angry, Don is used to command. He count a lot on Rick, the pilot, who he knows for years, to win the Great Oban Race. When he has to deal with Molly, it often ends in quarrel. Don too was hurted by his wife's death. But for him, past is past and he never had contacts with his daughter for 10 years.




Jordan Wilde
	He's the gunner of the team. Down to earth and sometimes awkward, he doesn't like Molly very much at the beginning, considering that Rick is the true pilot. Obliged to cooperate, he'll learn to appreciate her.




Rick Thunderbold
	He's the Earth team's pilot. He won many races on his planet, and is very talentuous. Unfortunately, he is badly injured during his first race on Oban.




Prince Aikka
	Prince Aikka is the heir of his native planet's crown, Nourasia. Nourasia has an alliance with the Crog Imperium, but indeed, it's more as invaders they came. Because of that, Aikka is constantly pull between duty and honour. He becomes a great friend with Molly, which not please the Crogs at all.




Colonel Toros
	From the Crog Imperium, Toros participates in the Oban Race to achieve the ultimate goal of the Crog : reign on all the others planets. Toros doesn't know any mercy, and use his authority on Prince Aikka, to make Earth team lose.




Maya Wei
	Very skilled pilot, a bit facetious and sometimes stubborn, Maya was Don's wife and Molly's mum. Her deadly accident tragically teared apart Don and Molly.
